Tours take place every Friday, and include tales of the history of the place, combining a visit to the Alrov Quarter near the Jaffa Gate
The Tower of David Museum expands its activities and opens a series of guided tours at a route that includes a spectacular observation of the views of Jerusalem from the Phasael Tower in the museum, a visit to the Jaffa Gate with an recounting of the changes in Jerusalem at the second half of the 19th century and the commercial activity that left the city walls. Later, the tour passes through the border that split the Mamilla neighborhood until the Six Days War, through the house where Theodor Herzl stayed when he visited Jerusalem. The route also includes a tour of a magnificent house, in the style of One Thousand and One Nights as well as in other houses that tell the history of the neighborhood, which was used as a border neighborhood from Israel's War of Independence up to June 1967, when it was re-united.
At the end, tourists will reach the new Alrov Quarter commercial area, where they can enjoy a cup of coffee and have desserts, as well as spend time in the shops. The tour takes place every Friday, lasting approximately two hours. Price: 50 NIS per participant.
