The museum in the Ein Shemer Kibbutz holds special activities for Israel's Day of Independence, and can be visited throughout the year to learn about the way of life before the foundation of the State of Israel
The "Old Courtyard" museum at the Ein Shemer Kibbutz holds a special experiential activity for Israel's 60th anniversary on May 8th 2008. The activity includes a guided visit at the Kibbutz dining room, watching an audio-visual film telling the history of the Kibbutz and a meeting with characters of pioneers from the early days of the Kibbutz. In addition, guests will be able to experience life in the old-time Kibbutz by wearing pioneer cloths and working in tasks that were characteristical of the pioneers, including building, paving, erecting tents, plowing, washing the laundry and guarding. On site there is also an active bakery which allows visitors to participate in the experience of baking buns and eating them fresh from the oven.
In addition to the special holiday activities, the "Old Courtyard" site also holds different activities, including a guided tractor-driven hayride, including explanations about life at the Kibbutz, a tour through a reconstructed Turkish train in the fields of the Kibbutz, a visit to a reconstructed tractor display and a tour of an olive press and a reconstructed flour mill from the early 20th century.
