Three International Ensembles will Perform at the Caesarea Jazz Festival |

This time, the festival at the ancient port, which takes place for the fourth time, brings the spirit of authenticity of the early 20th century in New Orleans This year, Caesarea's traditional Jazz Festival will take place on June 12th through the 14th. The three international ensembles that will perform in the festival are of the world's leading traditional Jazz players, including the clarinet player and tenor-saxophone artist Ken Peplowski's swing quintet, renown in the world of Jazz as the one following the footsteps of Benny Goodman. The other members in the quintet are pianist Cyrus Chestnut, guitar player Howard Alden, the Australian double bass player Nickie Parrott and drummer Joe Ascione. Another group performing in the festival is trumpeter Duke Heitger's band from New Orleans, performing with a diverse repertoire combining swing, Dixieland and New Orleans' authentic music. The festival's closing performance will be given by the Jazz band headed by pianist Jeff Barnhart. Players from the US, Finland, the Netherlands and Scotland compose this band. Before the concerts start every evening, the Yuval Cohen Jazz Quartet will perform at the ancient port plaza, with a performance made especially for the 2008 festival, for the pleasure of the people attending the festival. Along the coast there will be coffee shops, in the spirit of the events, and the Caesarea Port restaurants will b prepared to take in the people attending the festival. According to the festival director, Menachem Dotan, this is an event that promises a cultural experience that improves with time. "It is impossible to mistake the atmosphere at the Caesarea Jazz Festival. This is the place to feel, hear and enjoy good, hot Jazz with the heritage of the great Jazz players."
