The Israel Museum has Launched a New Website

The site offers virtual tours of the Shrine of the Book and the model of the Second Temple. There is an option to view pieces from the museum's collections and to get information about the renovations and building works taking place at the museum these days.

The Israel Museum's new website was designed in the spirit of the white Modernist cube which inspired the design of the museum's building. It was built in a way that enables surfers easy access to the different wings, collections and exhibitions in the museum.
In addition, the website offers detailed and up-to-date information on the activities held at the museum. In addition to the virtual tours on the website, two complete Dead Sea Scrolls found in the Judean Desert can be rolled. Those interested can also reach databases with information on artworks that were pillaged and rescued during World War II. This is connected to the "Orphaned Art" and the "Looking for Owners" exhibitions currently held at the museum.

Information is in Hebrew, English, Russian and French. Photos and Videos enable surfers to follow the progress of building work and renovations at the museum's campus, and to get information about the Ticho House and the Rockefeller Archaeological Museum "satellites" located outside the campus.

The website was made with patronage of the Arkin Foundation, and was developed by the museum's information system team.

The site's address is: www.imj.org.il.
