International Airlines will Add Flights on Routes to Israel

Delta Airlines from the United States is already reinforcing its flights form New York to Tel Aviv and in the next few months, flights from countries such as Italy, Great Britain, France, Germany, Poland, Sweden and Finland will be added

Following the increase in the extent of tourism to Israel, Delta Airlines decided to add a new flight route from New York to Tel Aviv. Until now, the company operated flights from Atlanta to Israel, but the 10% increase in the number of US tourists reaching Israel in 2007 has brought the company's management to extend its activities and operate a new flight route to Tel Aviv.

At the same time, several European airlines announced the addition of flights and the opening of new flight routes to Israel. These days, the Vatican's airline, Opera Romana is expected to operate 6 weekly flights from Rome and Verona to Israel. Two of these flights will land at the Ovda Airport near Eilat.

In addition, direct weekly charter flights from Verona in Italy to Eilat are planned. Such flights are also planned from Paris, Lodge in Poland, London, Helsinki, Stockholm and more. Flights from Scandinavian countries are expected to bring to Israel 10,000 tourists starting on October 2008 until the end of April 2009. The Dutch Neckermann Thomas Cook tourism wholesalers, the second largest in Europe, are marketing these flights. The company also plans to offer its customers 5 day tour packages in Israel.

The Finnish tourism company Matka Vekka has also recently announced that it will start marketing tourism packages to Eilat and tours throughout Israel. The company is expected to operate 26 charter flights that will bring 5,000 tourists in the upcoming year.

The Swedish "Sabra Tours" company also announced that it will operate 33 charter flights from Stockholm to Tel Aviv. The flights will be with the participation of Israir Airlines, and are expected to bring to Israel 4,500 tourists between March and November 2008.

In May, a group of Christian group leaders and senior personnel from Scandinavia are expected to come to Israel as part of its 60th anniversary celebrations. The delegation will be accompanied by reporters and its members will be the guests of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism.
