Nigerian Pilgrims Marked Israel's 60th Anniversary |

The event included a festive march and a mass prayer at the Davidson Center in Jerusalem Over 1,000 pilgrims from Nigeria participated in an event that took part in Jerusalem at mid-March to open Israel's 60th anniversary celebrations. Participants started a festive march, leaving the Dung Gate of the Old City to the Hulda stairs at the Davidson Center Archeological Park. Pilgrims representing different counties in Nigeria took part in the colorful parade, during which the flags of the counties were raised. Later, a singing group composed of 15 Catholic priests performed, with a repertoire of hymns in Hebrew accompanied by violins. During the events, certifications of appreciation were given by the Ministry of Tourism to the heads of the counties that participated in the ceremony. This event took place for the second consecutive year, with the presence of Nigeria's ambassador to Israel, S.A.D Olisa, the chairman of the Jewish Agency for Israel Zeev Bielski and deputy CEO of the Ministry of Tourism, Rafi Ben-Hur.
