Israel's international airport is in first place in the Middle East at customer satisfaction

A survey published by Airports Council International (ACI) for the year 2007 shows that the Ben Gurion International Airport is rated highly compared to other airports in the area and around the world.

Airports Council International holds a comprehensive annual survey, in which "quality of service in airports" awards are given for leading airports in different categories. The survey shows that the Ben Gurion Airport is among the award-receivers, and is ranked first in passenger satisfaction among airports in the Middle East and ranked second in the world among airports with an annual traffic of 5-15 million passengers.

Ranking is based on 200,000 questionnaires filled by passengers around the world during the past year, checking 34 different criteria on passenger service starting at registration for the flight and ending with boarding the plane. For several years, the Ben Gurion Airport has been ranked among the first few places in the world in several criteria. In recent years, the Israel Airports Authority has taken measures to upgrade its safety and security. In 2007, a record number of passengers was recorded, amounting to over 10 million people.

Airports Council International combines 580 bodies which operate 1,647 airports in 175 countries. From the data collected by the 2007 survey, the top ranked airports in the world for the third consecutive year are Incheon Airport in Seoul, Kuala Lumpur's international airport and Changi Airport in Singapore.
