An International Birdwathing Spring Migration Festival will Take Place in Eilat |

The event takes place for the second year at the Isrotel Agamim Hotel, organized by the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel, and will focus on the birds' spring migration. The Spring Migration Festival will take place on March 24th-31st 2008. During the festival, participants will be able to watch flocks of migrating birds, on their way from Africa to the lands of the north. The Eilat and Arava region is renowned as one of the most important birdwatching sites in the world. Millions of birds pass over this area during fall and spring, and people with an interest in this subject will be able to enjoy the experience of the migration and observe species of birds of prey, songbirds and flocks of flamingos. As part of the festival, an available package include 6 nights at the hotel, participation in conferences and events, expert lectures, guided birdwatching tours, bird identification workshops held in the field, a visit to Eilat's ringing station and participation in bird ringing. In addition, participants will receive a ticket to enter a photography contest. Lectures will be given by international expert birdwatchers in English, and may be attended without the entire package at the price of 40 NIS per lecture. The package price is 3,800 NIS per participant. A 4-night package is also available for 2,300 NIS per participant. Participants will be able to choose from specialist tours on subjects such as birds of the Dead Sea, following the Nubian Nightjar, night life in the southern Arava and others.
