Rumanian Tourists will be Able to Enter Israel without a Visa

Following this decision, the number of Rumanian tourists entering Israel is expected to rise.

These days, Rumania has joined the European Union, whose citizens are exempt from a visa to Israel. The decision to allow Rumanian tourists to enter Israel without a visa comes partly from European Union's petition to exempt Rumanian citizens from visas, as well as the fact that Rumania has already opened its borders to Israeli tourists without requiring a visa. The Rumanian ambassador to Israel, Edward Iosiper, said that many Rumanians show much interest in a visit to Israel, and that he expects that the exemption from a visa will cause a sharp increase in tourism from Rumania to Israel.

In 2005, 10,000 tourists came to Israel from Rumania, and in the first ten months of 2007 there have already been twice as many tourists coming to Israel from this country.
