"Israel Phototour 60" Contest |

Tourists, both from around the world and Israeli ones, who have photographs and videos of Israeli tourism during Israel's 60 years of existence, are invited to take part in this contest. The international stage of the contest will start during the IMTM tourist fair. The Israeli tourist industry will open the international "Israel Phototour 60" contest on February 6th as part of the international tourist fair IMTM, which will take place in the Tel Aviv Trade Fair and Convention Center. This project is a joint venture of Israel's large tourist organizations, including Israel Tourist and Travel Agents Association, Israel Hotel Association, Israel Nature and Natural Parks Protection Authority, El Al, Israel Tour Guides Association, the Israel Forum for Rural Tourism, Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael - Jewish National Fund and the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel, with the participation of Masa Acher magazine. The "Israel Phototour 60" project is a photo competition of Israeli tourism in the 60 years of Israel's existence. It intends to draw thousands of participants from around the world and Israel, in order to expose Israel's delightful treasures, views and sites through still photos and videos. Tourists who have visited Israel in the past, people interested in visiting Israel in the future and Israeli tourists are invited to submit selected photographs and videos on subjects related to views, places, sites, nature, tourist events, festivals and their like. The photos and videos will be uploaded to the project's website, where the 3 winners from each category will be selected. The public will be invited to rate the selected pieces in each category, and the final results will combine the public's opinion and the judges' rating. Winners of the contest for tourists from abroad will receive flight tickets to Israel, presented by "El Al", as well as a week's vacation in Israel, presented by the Israel Incoming Tour Operators Association. Winners of the contest for Israeli tourists will enjoy a week's vacation in Israel. The contest will end on November 2008, and the winning pieces will be on display in a special exhibition during spring 2009. During the international contest opening announcement, winners of the first part of the contest will be announced. This part of the contest was held amongst the tourist industry in Israel. Winners of this part of the contest will receive an Olympus camera, presented by the "Aloda" company.
