Daily Flight Between Tel-Aviv and London with British Midlands

The new flight route will start working on March 2008. Tickets for Airbus 320A flights have already started selling.

British Midland (BMI) will be the second named airline on the flight route between Britain and Israel. It will have a daily flight between Heathrow and Ben Guryon Airports starting on March 13th 2008.

Airbus 320A planes will be used for the flights, with a 108 seat tourist's class and a 20 seat business class. Ticket prices will start at 498 dollars in coach and 1,231 dollars in business, including taxes. The flight schedule was especially designed to enable passengers to leave Israel in the morning and reach connection flights from Heathrow to other cities in Britain and Europe. The company also has connection flights to the United States and Canada, in conjunction with Star Alliance as well as other airlines. Flights from Tel Aviv will take off at 07:15 daily, landing at 10:45. Flights from Heathrow will take off at 12:55, landing at Ben Guryon Airport at 19:55.

BMI's entrance into the Israeli market was done after the governments of Israel and Britain signed agreements, and after receiving the appropriate permits from both countries' flight authorities. In Israel, BMI will be represented by "Open Sky". Tickets will be sold through travel agents.

British Midland is the second largest airline in Britain. It was founded in 1997 as part of an alliance of several airlines, founding Star Alliance. Within this framework, the chain operates over 16,000 daily flights to 855 destinations in 155 countries.

British Midland's CEO, Nigel Turner, said that launching the new flight route is part of BMI's growth strategy for mid-length flights, and that it holds much potential for the company.
