The "Darom Adom" Blossoming Celebration will Take Place in the Negev's Northern Region

The event takes place during the month of February, and attracts thousands of blossoming enthusiasts. They come to observe the magnificent carpets of anemones which grow in the area's fields at the end of the winter and the beginning of the spring.

The "Darom Adom" (Red South) event annually takes place in the north western part of the Negev when the anemones blossom. It takes place during the weekends of February and includes hikes, events and activities for the entire family. The guided hikes take place on Fridays and Saturdays, for a cost of 10 NIS per participant. In addition, there are bike tours around Kibbutz Be'eri and Kibbutz Ruhama, with an option to rent a bicycle on site.

Spa sites and art galleries will be available to visitors. There will also be a farmers' market, and the restaurants will offer ethic foods produced locally. On February 22nd and 23rd 2008, the anemone parade will take place, in memory of the singer Shoshana Damari. The "Red Treasure", a prize-awarding game will also take place. Each Friday there will be a musical performance, taking place outdoors, in nature, as well as a festive Kabbalat Shabbat (a Jewish welcoming of the Shabbat prayer service).

Several information stations will be available in the area, including the ones in Yad Mordechai Junction, in Beit Kama Junction, in Sa'ad Junction, at the Be'eri car park as well as other places. The information stations will provide the public with information about the activities, events and tourist sites in the area. Information about the event is also available on the website: www.darom-adom.com, and during the festival on the phone at 08-6809600.
