"Artists for Nature" festival took place in the Hula Valley

The first international event of its kind was initiated by the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel, aided by the European Union, with the participation of bird painters from all over the world.

The "Artists for Nature" festival took place at the beginning of January. Some of the top bird painters from England, Scotland, the Netherlands, Russia, the United States and Israel participated in the festival. It took place in collaboration with the ANF - the Art for Nature Foundation, the Keren Kayemet LeIsrael - Jewish National Fund, the Foreign Ministry, the Galilee Development Authority and the Mitzpe Hayamim Hotel. The festival intends, among other things, to promote awareness for the preservation of nature in Israel, specifically in the Hula Valley, as well as to encourage ecological tourism and art in Israel. The artworks made during the festival were donated by the artists for nature preservation causes and for the advancement of projects in the Hula Agmon Lake.

During the event, the artists toured the Hula Agmon Lake and held creative workshops outdoors. In addition, an art happening took place, with the participation of bird watching, nature and art enthusiasts. The public that arrived to watch the artists' work was invited to join guided tours along with the artists. At the end of the festival, an exhibition took place, in which the paintings of the birds were displayed to be viewed by the public.

Dan Alon, the director of the bird watching center for the Society for the Protection of Nature in Israel said that the event intended to display the magical views and natural treasures of Israel, and served as a platform for intercultural talks, for international collaborations and for bringing together people from different countries.
