After the upgraded issue of Israel Travel Guide was sent two weeks ago, we've received many encouraging responses, as well as recommendations and various requests. We gladly welcomed your letters, and will, of-course, do anything possible to improve, add and bring you the face of Israel's tourism, with all its colors, views and sites.
These days, Israeli tourism is again picking up steam, which is evident by the hundreds of thousands of tourists that have visited Israel in the past few months. Thousands came to attend Christmas midnight mass at the Church of the Annunciation in Nazareth or at the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem. Despite the situation in Middle-East, it seemed that during these days, the barriers at the border passes between Israel and the Palestinian National Authority seem to have fallen. Authorities on both sides of the pass between Jerusalem and Bethlehem did all they could to make the passage easier. This enabled over 60,000 tourists to hold their religious rites undisturbed.
Accumulated data about Israel's inbound tourism indicate that this year, unlike past years, there are no clear seasonal differences in the number of entering tourists. The rise in tourism is year long, which is a clear sign that tourists from all over the world appreciate the advantages of the weather in our region.
We can only keep wishing and hoping that this coming year, 2008, will be good for worldwide tourism in general and to Israeli tourism in particular.
