Salt Statues in the Lowest Place in the World |

Famous artists designed the statues as part of a festival that took place during Hanukkah at the Dead Sea Designed salt statues were recently placed in the Ein Bokek area in the Dead Sea (near the Lot hotel) as part of the first festival of its kind held there during the Hanukkah holiday. The statues were sculpted by famous artists, carefully selected by the organizers. Each received a lump of salt weighing 3 tons for the creation of the piece. The festival took place in order to raise public awareness for the preservation of the nature and uniqueness of the Dead Sea area. Children and teenagers participated in workshops about recycling and ecology that took place during the festival. December 25, 2007
