|
|
60 locations for picnics, nature and observation will be built this year as an initiative of "Access Israel" non profit organization, commemorating Israel's 60th anniversary. "Independence for All" is a project intended to improve the quality of life of people with disabilities, giving them access to nature and tourist sites throughout the country. The "Access Israel" non profit organization initiated this project in different parts of Israel, using donations given by different bodies. The project's work process includes approaching tourist and public bodies interested in allocating space for a picnic or observation area accessible to the disabled. The accessible areas include disabled parking spots, paths adapted for the disabled and a picnic table suited to the needs of these specific tourists. The cost of each of these tourist spot amounts to 30,000 NIS. The organizers of the project give the option of building additional facilities at the accessible site, according to the space allocated for it and donations. The "Access Israel" non profit organization promotes and integrates disabled people in Israel. This project's activities will dramatically change the number of accessible parking lots in Israel during the next 3 years in order to enable disabled people and their families interested in touring Israel to do so in greater comfort. Additional information regarding this project an option to join this initiative can be found on the website: http://www.all.org.il/main.asp?a=support
